Tizgui Waterfalls

Departure in the morning in 4×4 to the Tizgui waterfalls, we will first take the road that leads to the village of Tizgui, all along the way we will pass many villages nestled in a wild and rocky landscape until the magnificent waterfalls. Return via Agdez, lunch at the Tamnougalt kasbah and return to Ouarzazate in the evening.

Taznakht

Departure in the morning by 4×4 to Taznakht (village famous for the manufacture of Berber carpets), discovery of the villages of Tagnzalte and Imider. Picnic and return to Ouarzazate in the evening.

The Roses Valley and the Dades Gorges

Departure in the morning to the Dades Gorges, Skoura Skoura palm grove (from there visit the beautiful Kasbah Amridil, then from Kelaa de M’gouna (capital of the Rose) we discover the Rose Valley through the Boutahrar track about an hour walk before taking back the 4×4 to join the Dades Gorges, at the foot of Ait Youl Kasbah: magnificent colors and landscapes: the fingers of the monkeys. Lunch in Dades Gorges, along the river and return to Ouarzazate in the evening.

Skoura

At 40 km from Ouarzazate, you will discover

  • Amerhidil kasbah : famous kasbah located on the banks of the Hajjaj wadi in the Skoura palm grove.
  • Kasbah Ait Abbou : the highest of the palm grove (26 meters), its oldest part dates back to 1837. Restored and preserved by a family, it is currently used as a transit lodging and restaurant. The view from the terrace of the whole palm grove is worth seeing!
  • The potters : Visit the potters of ‘Oulad Aarbiya and watch them at work. With amazing skill, they create large earthenware jars or lanterns with star patterns.
  • Imadri and the cave dwellings : 4 km from Talout, towards the Atlas mountains, discovery of the village of Madri, visit of the cave dwellings. There are ancient grain stores.
  • The Salt Mines : Amazing salt mines, a few kilometers from the village of Toundout, in a beautiful landscape, the caves are huge. Dinosaur bones have even been found in the area!
  • The souk : On Mondays in the center of Skoura, big meeting of all the inhabitants of the surrounding areas. That’s the day of the souk! Not at all touristic, an authentic walk.
  • Sidi Flah: Located on either side of the banks of the Dades, about 10km from Skoura, this village is worth a visit for a picnic.

The Draa Valley until the first dunes of Tinfou

Let’s go to the Draa valley, the gateway to the desert! All along the Draa, from Agdez, we will enjoy a magnificent show: palm groves, kasbahs and Berber villages, before arriving in Zagora. It’s a small town known for its famous panel “Tombouctou, 52 days” (in a dromedary caravan!). Lunch break in Zagora before continuing to the village of Tamgroute, 18 km from Zagora to the south, which was an important educational and religious center whose library of its Zaouïa houses a collection of religious writings, before returning to Tinfou.
It’s from here that we will be able to get a glimpse of the Sahara to give you an idea of the desert.
Ride on a dromedary for about an hour. Return to Ouarzazate in the evening.

Telouet

Morning departure by 4×4 from Ouarzazate, visit of the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (Unesco protected site), continuation on the road that crosses the High Atlas, a wonderful landscape whose view is exceptional, to arrive at the kasbah of Telouet: ancestral residence of the Pasha Glaoui (the highest kasbah of the Atlas and of the South of Morocco).
Lunch in Télouet and return to Ouarzazate via the Tizi-n-Tichka col, Agouim and Amerzgan.

The amethysts

To discover the amethysts you have to start early in the morning. The 4×4 will take an impressive winding road into the mountain. The ascent to the amethyst quarry is done on foot or by mule. Lunch with the locals and return to Ouarzazate in the evening.

 

Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou

Half day dedicated to the visit of the city and its surroundings: departure by 4×4 towards the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful fortified villages, located about 30km away. After a visit to the film studio and the Tifoultoute kasbah, we’ll continue to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we’ll visit the fortress and enjoy a panoramic view from the top of the kasbah.

Fint Oasis

Departure from Ouarzazate in 4×4, after 13 km of tracks the discovery of an amazing oasis in the heart of a rocky desert, stroll in the village and mint tea at the home of the chief of the village.
